How Root Cause Analysis Works: AI-Powered Analysis in <60 seconds

All integration events now support the option to generate a Root Cause Analysis (RCA) report. With this feature, your team can resolve failures faster by immediately identifying the root cause of integration issues. The report is written with the intention of distribution, saving your team hours in generating your own RCA reports and distributing to key stakeholders.

The RCA feature includes the following sections:

  1. Key Details: Important information to identify the event, when it occurred, etc.
  2. Interpretation: Determination as to whether the failure is data-specific or system-specific and an assessment as to why the failure occurred.
  3. Recommended Actions: Remediation steps to consider to resolve the failure.

This feature is particularly useful for diagnosing the cause of events that did not complete successfully, and accelerating the time to resolution.

Generating a RCA report

The following flow describes how the RCA feature works:

  1. For a specific integration event, click the "Generate Root Cause Analysis Report" button in the Root Cause Analysis panel.

  2. The RCA report is generated from the integration event metadata payload which is passed into the OpenAI API securely and privately. As with all Sentinel features, core HR data is not accessible and is not used in processing this payload.

  3. When the RCA report is complete, it will be sent via email to the initiator (the person who clicked the "Generate Root Cause Analysis Report" button). The RCA report will also be available in the Root Cause Analysis panel when completed and is visible to your team when viewing this integration event.

You will need to manually refresh the page to view the completed RCA report in Sentinel.
