Sentinel uses secure identity management to authenticate and authorize users to the platform. Every account requires:

  • Initial login using a temporary password
  • Setup two-factor authentication (2FA)
  • Setting a new password

Login Page

When you visit app.dispatchsentinel.com/login, you’ll input your email. Your sign-on options will appear after inputting your email. Proceed through the login flow to access Sentinel.



First-time User Setup

This section covers the user flow when setting up a user account for the first time.

  1. When you're invited to an organization in Sentinel, you'll receive an email containing a temporary password. Copy the temporary password to your clipboard, and click "Start Here"
  2. Enter your email address and paste the temporary password into the respective fields, then click "Next" to proceed.


  3. Set up two-factor authentication (2FA) with a suitable application. Common applications for configuring 2FA include Google Authentication, Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password, and more. Click "Next" to proceed after setting up 2FA.

    Setting up on a mobile device: If you set up 2FA with an application on your phone, open the 2FA app, press the button to add/set up a new 2FA code, and scan the QR code with your phone camera. Then, input the 6-digit code into Sentinel.

    Setting up on a laptop: If you set up 2FA with an application on your laptop, you can copy the secret code shown in Sentinel (because you cannot scan the QR code), and paste it into the secret field in your 2FA application on your laptop. Then, input the 6-digit code into Sentinel.


  4. Reset your password by inputting the temporary password sent to you via email, and creating and confirming a new secure password. Then, click "Next" to proceed to the next step.


  5. Finally, enter your 2FA code and click "Next" to access Sentinel.



Reset Password


Sentinel supports users with a self-service flow to reset their password and regain access to their account via email-based code authentication. To begin this process, enter your email in the login screen, click "Next" to proceed to the password input page, then click "Reset Password"



  1. In your email, you'll receive a password reset prompt. The email contains a 6-character alpha-numeric code. Click "Reset password"


  2. The 6-digit alpha-numeric code will automatically be input into the respective field. Then, create a new strong password for your account, then click "Next"


  3. To confirm the password reset, you'll need to input the 2FA code, which was configured when setting up your account the first time. Enter the 6-digit numeric 2FA code, then click "Next" to finalize the password reset and log in to Sentinel.



FAQ


Q: I've encountered an error after attempting to login that says "login.OAuthLogin(missing saved state)" – how can I login?

A: Simply navigate to https://app.dispatchsentinel.com your browser and you should be logged in to Sentinel.

Q: I'm seeing an error saying "User is locked" – how can I unlock my user?

A: Sentinel automatically locks user accounts when suspicious activity during login is detected, such as repeated failed login attempts. Contact product-support@dispatchsentinel.com and copy your Sentinel admin on the email to request for an account unlock.


Q: I don't know what my 2FA code is, or I've lost access to the device/system that has the 2FA codes. How can I access my account?

A: You will be required to recover your account and set up 2FA again. Contact product-support@dispatchsentinel.com and copy your Sentinel admin on the email to request for account recovery.
